Phased array antennas are being used by 5G researchers in order to deliver high data rate service to end users over a relatively short distance over the air millimeter wave link. By using beamforming and beamsteering, high data rates can be delivered with lower levels of interference while consuming less power. Using Keysight's wideband generation and analysis solutions, these phased array antennas can be characterized using wideband waveforms at 5G frequencies. Metrics measured include EVM, IQ constellation, channel power, and antenna pattern.
